Geometry

We are learning to name and describe the following shapes; circle, triangle, square, oblong/rectangle, hexagon and octagon. It is important that the children use the words corner and sides when describing 2 dimensional shapes.
We have used wool to make and describe shapes and we have drawn pictures using shapes. We have even used a feely bag so no one can see the shape. We have taken turns to feel the shape and describe it to the class.
This week we hope to bake shape cookies and decorate them using symmetrical patterns. If you can help Ms Keenan out that would be great. We hope to make the cookies at 10am on Wednesday and then ice them in the afternoon. See Ms Keenan if you can help!

The Great Mix Up of 2010

Yesterday Jamie went home with one big sandal and one little sandal. Norton went home with one big sandal and one little sandal. But this morning they swapped their sandals back.

Their sandals will live happily ever after on the right feet.
